Community Intervention Associates’ Outpatient Substance Abuse Services for adults and adolescents promote healthy lifestyles through a wide array of services for anyone experiencing problems with alcohol and drugs. Our counselors are highly trained, certified professionals who work with each client to create individualized service plans (ISP).

Outpatient Substance Abuse Services include:

  1. Intake and assessment to determine needs and level of services.
  2. Treatment and counseling for individuals, groups, and families.
  3. Court-ordered substance abuse screening and evaluations.
  4. Psychiatric evaluations, evaluations for medications, and medication monitoring.
  5. Information and referral to other treatment resources in the community.

Clients may receive services that range from short-term counseling to long-term, intensive outpatient treatment. The following components to our Outpatient Programs works with the community to create strong, ongoing support systems for our clients:

RELAPSE PREVENTION: An open-ended short term cognitive-behavioral program to help clients identify their substance abuse patterns and triggers related to using alcohol and drugs. Upon completion of this phase, they begin developing drug refusal skills and a relapse prevention plan. Clients should have drug-alcohol education before entering this program. As part of Relapse Prevention, CIA provides Chemical Dependency Education. Tools are provided to understand the effect that alcohol and drugs have on the individual, work, family, and community. Designed as a continuation of treatment for those clients who participated in treatment, group focuses on implementing, practicing, and reinforcing relapse prevention knowledge and skills obtained.

MATRIX MODEL TREATMENT: This is a treatment model based on best practices and chemical dependency treatment principles. Matrix provides knowledge and support to achieve abstinence and initiate long-term recovery. Includes early recovery education about the neurobiology of addiction, and relapse prevention.

TEEN-INTERVENE:  Adolescent Substance Abuse Program
A tested, time-efficient, evidence-based program for teenagers suspected of experiencing mild to moderate problems associated with alcohol or other drug use. The program also includes the participation of teens’ parents or guardians. Teen-Intervene program integrates stages of change theory,   motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral therapy to help teens reduce and   ultimately eliminate their chemical use. Abstinence is the long-term goal of adolescent drug treatment. Harm reduction is a logical early-stage goal of Teen-Intervene. Any behavior change that reduces harm is a positive result.
